A snapshot of guest ratings and stories behind the stay.
“We spent 3 nights at Efteling, staying at the Grand Hotel and we were extremely happy with everything during our stay. We arrived and were immediately greeted by a member of staff who welcomed us, unloaded our car, parked it, and arranged for our bags to be taken to our room. Brilliant. Every staff member was welcoming and always smiling! Our room was great and we all had amazing sleep every night which was backed up by my GARMIN telling me this! (I have even got the details of where the bedding is from - it was that good!) Breakfast - Excellent. The best buffet breakfast I have experienced. You will not be disappointed. Spa - A great addition in this hotel and somewhere to escape to away from the heat and rides. At checkout our bags were collected, as was our vehicle and brought to the front of the hotel. I am struggling to find negatives with this hotel (and Eftiling in general). We all had a great time and would love to visit again. Maybe they could fill up the chocolate coins in the rooms more frequently! ha!”
“Fabulous hotel Absolutely loved it. The rooms are great and the pool if so nice, the kids loved it. Also has a sauna and steam room. The breakfast is fabulous, so different to anywhere else. Dinner at night was lovely. Yes it was expensive but it was nice to sit and relax and eat. It’s great being at the gate of the park too. I highly recommend this. We had two adults, 15yr old, 4&3yr old.”
“Had an absolutely brilliant time here. Food, room, greeting and valet parking, location, staff all absolutely top class. Only very minor but annoying issue was that we were promised our car would be charged for us during the stay. Got back to the car and it's on 10% so currently sitting at a petrol station for an hour rather than enjoying the next stage of our holiday. Check your car app the night before to confirm if they've charged yours, we should have done that.”
“We stayed here as a family of 4 on a first time visit to Efteling. It's easy to say that we absolutely loved every minute of it. From arrival, we parked the car outside, and a member of the team arrived down to collect our bags and park their car. They brought us into the room very quickly, all completely and utterly painless, with very friendly staff. We had the five-person room, the one with the bunk beds. The kids absolutely loved these. The room was really nicely decorated. Macarons in the room to eat, free water. Really, really nice bed. The adults' bed was super comfortable. Convenience to the park was absolutely outstanding. You could literally walk straight out the door to go into Efteling itself. You had a 30-minute head start on the general public (not that you really needed it when we were there anyway), but super duper convenient location. Included breakfast was very tasty, with a good buffet, and then the hot breakfast options were also very nice. Only downsides for us were: - In the room, the air conditioning unit didn't actually seem to get any colder, even if you set it to the -3 setting. The room didn't cool down at all. - Additionally, if you turned off the fans on that same control panel, the fans didn't turn off. I don't know, was there something wrong with our room? We found it incredibly hot at night. Luckily we could open the windows, which helped. The only problem with that was that early in the morning all the ducks and geese woke us up, but I can't really help with that. The dinner options were very limited, we felt, within the hotel itself. You had the main restaurant where the breakfast is served. The menu is small. From an Irish perspective, the kids' menu was very much not kid-friendly. There was only kind of one option on there for our kids. The adults' menu was okay, but I don't think you'd want to eat there twice. We didn't get to try the other restaurant because the menu looked way too fussy for our kids. We did manage to do an online order for the nearby Domino's. They got delivered to the hotel without issue. That was handy because we just wanted something easy to eat after a long day in the park. On departure day, the staff again were incredibly friendly. We were able to drop the bags down to the luggage store. They didn't make us wait for the tags; they just tagged them up and took them. We were able to go into the park for a few hours before we needed to leave. When it came time to leave, they collected the car for us, brought it back up, brought the bags out, and loaded the bags into the car. They then very nicely offered bottles of water for everybody for the drive to the airport. They gave the kids some really nice exclusive stickers. Overall, I really couldn't fault the service in the hotel; it was absolutely fantastic. Special shout out to the bellboy. He was very funny, and the kids got a great kick. We were particularly impressed with his luggage trick, but overall he was very funny. The show that's on in the hotel three times a day is entirely in Dutch. We weren't able to really appreciate that because of that, but there always seemed to be a crowd watching it.”
“This is a review from a childless millennial theme park couple. If thats not you, this review isn't for you. The hotel is stunning, the staff are incredible, the breakfast and dinner at Brasserie 7 are fab, the whole hotel smells amazing and the room was spectacular. My only complaint is the pool/spa - it looks beautiful in the pics but I have not managed to find a time of day, or night (right up until 10pm!) that this pool isn't completely packed with screaming, splashing, cannonballing kids. The steam room door is constantly flung open by kids for no damn reason, letting all the steam out. Someone is constantly crying. I tried 9pm, I tried 8am, it makes no difference. The fact they're offering massages in this facility is hilarious to me... there's no way the noise doesn't travel to the treatment room. If you're looking to relax here, don't bother.”
